The Website

Founded in 2006, Mountain Guru is a Vancouver focused online hiking resource and community. We have catalogued more than 100 local trails ranging from calm and relaxing walks, quick urban work-outs, all-day hikes and select bike trails.

Our goal is to provide a free online resource that offers many of the tools required to enjoy a great hike. Nearly every trial page is equipped with GPS and KML downloadable hiking maps that you can upload to your GPS or KML equipped cell phone. Registered users can comment directly on the trail page as well as in the community forum. Trail and site updates are available through our RSS feed and on Twitter (goMountainGuru).

Mountain Guru was designed for viewing in Google Chrome with a screen resolution of 1280 by 1024. You can view this in any old browser such as Internet Explorer or Firefox and the view should be just fine -- just not spectacular..

Some of Matthew's favorite Vancouver hiking trails are the Stanley Park Seawall, Buntzen Lake Trail in Anmore, and the Baden Powell Trail.
