Awesome vistas of the Howe Sound, and the Coast Mountains to the east. Arguably, Vancouver's second-most popular hiking area is known as The (Cheakamus) Chief located near Squamish off Highway 99 at the Shannon Falls Provincial Park. It can be identified by it's iconic 500 meter tall flat granite wall that looms above the Squamish area.

On a clear sunny Summer (or Winter) day, expect a lot of hiker traffic and minimal parking. It is recommended to arrive early to beat the rush and experience one of the most spectacular sunrises around. Bring binoculars. This trail may contain areas with steep inclines. This trail may be equipped with restrooms.
