Access to this trail requires a trip up the Grouse Mountain Gondola. An annual event on Grouse Mountain, the Snowshoe Grind offers a great winter alternative to the grueling heat and climb of the Grouse Grind. At roughly twice the length and only half the height, it is a fairly balanced alternative for most. For the first third, the trail stays relatively flat, following along the ski runs before cutting north along a ridge with a valley view to Capilano Lake below. From there, the trees thin and the trail elevation becomes much more aggressive. Ultimately ending at Thunderbird Ridge before looping back around towards the lodge.
